Slow Living is meant to inspire you to live a life at a slower pace. Modern day culture is fast paced contributing to the rise of anxiety, limited social connection and feeling overwhelmed due to this idea of having to "strive" for success. As Christians, we are taught to discern what comes from the world and what comes from God. God wants us to live in a way that is lights and brings joy. Slow living enables the ability to reflect on what God desires for our life rather than our own will or even what society expects of us. We have learned through living at a slower pace, we spend more time with God, spend more time listening than reacting and are more intentional in our relationships. A slow living lifestyle challenges us to truly live a life that aligns and reflects our values.
A life Intentionally Lived
Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life: You should mind your own business and work with your hands.
1 Thessalonians 4:11
Our Purpose
Our goal is to inspire others to connect with nature more often, value self reflection, more home cooked meals to nourish our bodies, cultivate meaningful and deeper relationships, make time for hobbies, have faith, practice mindfulness, find purpose in our jobs, be gentle with others, more time spent with God, pursue passions, prioritize intentional rest, give back to the community, support locally and live off the land & sea. We are passionate about challenging modern day hustle culture as we recognize the rise of anxiety, chronic stress with the excessive value on money, fame and constant work.
Ways We Practice Slow Living
These are practices we utilize in our daily life to be intentional for living a slow life.

Gentleness
Build community and give back to the community
Spending more time with God
In a fast paced culture, it is easy to feel overwhelmed and overstimulated, impacting the way we show up for and with others. We find it important to practice gentleness in our communication such as active listening, being encouraging and patience. Reflect: Are you patient and eager to listen to others?
We love to host and be intentional with getting together with our friends. It can be easy to get distracted with work and other responsibilities but we recognize the importance of community and investing in those around us who also support and encourage us. We also value giving back to the community just has Jesus did. We have started a tradition handing out cookies to the homeless with a invitation to church around the holidays. Reflect: How can you give back to your community?
We ensure daily time spent with God whether that is doing a devotional, spending time in prayer and playing worship music. We experience heart change and healing in the presence of God. Reflect: How much time to I spend with God? Remember, we become more like the One we follow.

Mindfulness & reflection
We love to spend intentional time reflecting on our feelings, areas of growth, positive memories and experiences. We find so much joy in weekly coffee shop dates discussing our week, ways to strengthen our relationship, business goals and how we can be better partners and friends. We also practice mindfulness by embracing our environment and appreciating its beauty. It easier to do this when we slow down enough to pay attention. Reflect: How can I be more present on a regular basis? How can I be a better friend? How am I spending my time?

Embracing hobbies
One of our favorite hobbies to do together is surf! It requires humility to start a new hobby as an adult and it is an excellent character builder. It builds self esteem when we start something new, embracing challenge and learning new skills.
Reflect: What is a hobby I can do that brings me joy?

Living off the land & Sea
Spearfishing is a sustainable way of living. It teaches us to connect to nature and sea life, bringing quality food to the table. Nothing is more rewarding than having freshly caught seafood and be able to make different type of dish. That includes sashimi, poke, butter garlic, panko fried, beer battered...
Reflect: Do you get the nutrients you need from your food? Modern society has embraced processed foods resulting in mental health and physical issues.
